I Heart the 90s

2:20am Phil.Time@Bed

I can't sleep. Thought that's why the timid night made me do some online research and video surfing about my favorite 90's bands. Ive been thinking a lot these days, maybe because the recent clinical rotation I had was with psychiatric patients. Now, as much as i want to disclose information about how they think........ i guess that never was the sole purpose of this post. Along with the deep thinking, I listened to songs of the 90s.

I was born in 1992. These bands were alive then, singing their hits, and i thank God they managed to extend their fame till the 21st century. I never had all the enthusiasm for the songs of the present.

Fixation is a term used when children failed to accomplish the tasks during stages of development according to S. Freud (e.g oral, anal, phallic etc.), thus affecting they personalities as they grow up. [just a little view]

and I'm undeniably and irrevocably in love with 90's songs.

we danced to the beat of Aqua's Dr. Jones and Cartoon Heroes . Their songs give me air of nostalgia that soon develops to neuralgic episodes of longing to get back to the times when i used to stroll the disco stage, feeling my youth. (the Filipino's concept of a disco stage is a plaza with a ball hanging on above head, allowing colorful lights to spread in all directions, usually in town and barangay settings with music coming from a giant sound system.. no one ever gets distracted by it i noticed.) Awesome music videos.

The Spice Girls is an all girl band, as observed above..haha!  The domination of boy bands motivated the formation of Spice Girls thru audition screenings, and down came the slots to Mel B., Mel C., Geri, Victoria and  Emma.  They've tracked rocky roads before reaching the peak of their career just like any band, and the widespread fame of their hit album Wannabe made them the Best-selling female group of all time, whoah!. Each of them has names ending in Spice: Posh, Baby, Scary, Sporty and Ginger. In my days the girls in the neighborhood copy their actions in Stop.  I never had the slightest feeling of shock, but rather an outdated disappointment for Geri leaving the group in 1998. That time, internet is seemingly unknown at my age, and at my place. They made a comeback concert in 2008, and me--- coping up! Thanks to Youtube.

Who would ever forget A1! I pity my younger brothers! and my sister- who could  have had learned the explicit idea of the word crush if she was born, earlier. I could make a who blog for them! (im actually ignoring my notes tonight just so i can think on what to write...) I've recently put their songs in my phone, taking turns with some of Westlife's and Boyzone's because of capacity problems some vain animal contributed. They've had me shufflin' and dancin' in the shower, in front of the mirror and anywhere i could view myself comfortably. Listen to Ready or Not, Be The First To Believe and  Everytime. Paul Marazzi is not here.

Never have I heard it this way. Emotional..sending goosebumps.. Fans Forever!!! T_T

All the Pacific Islanders can never say that they've not known Westlife. Almost all of their songs were famous. They made excellent renditions of songs from ABBA ,Barry Manilow and many more. I can still remember the day i sang I have a dream, where the judges think of giving way for the best of the bests to win..  Even my relatives in the island have taken cared of posters and magazines containing their faces. An evidence of  Westlife's longevity, that merely groups nowadays could barely suffice. F4 for example did not last long, however they made awesome remarks in the Philippines that never will be forgotten.
Westlife disbanded this year. :(

Boyzone is a legend. I was addicted to their songs, helping me realise  there were too many II've been missing in the past, although some I can remember.. The songs before tend to whisper in my ear, excellent composition with excellent performers. My classmates were watching me as I do some actions from Boyzone's hit Love me for a Reason, and that was the beginning of me being branded as maka-oldies...

Right now in college, staying the city, with once in two to three month of home visits, I got to have all the access to everything in the web, I repeat EVERYTHING... *evil grin*.. I took the chance and traced the things craved by my soul to remember or reminisce at the least..'coz we can never bring them back.
I'm feeling, I've made some Wikipedia extension for this. With the birth of SOPA..
No choice but to select the topmost search result.
My classmates were teasing me about my  song preference. They must have gone over the 90's, but i havent, and i laughed back. One day, i reported that i have new songs in my phone, no astonishment at all, 'coz new songs only suggests.. newly stored OLD songs.. haha!

90's Song Fixated...
