A Poem for the Aging

Thursday, May 24, 2012

(Its funny that my brother pronounced it as a-ging! )

Rapunzel und Mother Gothel Pictures, Images and Photos
Morning was it when sleepy heads stand on both feet.
And Mother birds come from an all night seek.
The sun spreading light above the mountain peak.
To signal the morning life beat.

Mother Gothel Pictures, Images and Photos

I face the mirror bewildered in crooked brows.
Seeing my reflection marked with little roads.
18 years have passed and more years to blame.
How they stole away the fresh porcelain.

The Fountain they say was never true,
Nor the falls that flow as mountain dew.
To bring back the youth that once was mine.
Slowly it fades, with the sands of time.

The smile, the eyes, the lips the moist of skin.
Outnumbered by the dryness of the cells within.
The Heart, it pumps seem an endless task.
My hungry Brain, a lot questions have asked.

Tangled, Gothel, Blah blah blah Pictures, Images and Photos

We grew tall, lanky and
tired.
Jobless, old and beauty
denied.
Rotten, hag with gauzy
hair.
Trapped, and swimming
in depths of despair.

The little roads are lines of many smiles expressed.
In 18 years to counter moments of depress.
In everyday we lived, and are called mature.
The world breathes, as we become the sweetest manure.

I had myself as inspiration for this poem, for I noticed the gradual aging process in my body, my soul and mind. I thought about Mother Gothel from Tangled, where she can adamantly restore her youthful appearance through Rapunzel's crowning glory, which is blonde.      Although enough verbal evidence told me already that I look younger for a college student, I still long to go back to the times where I play in the neighborhood and climb trees (all sorts of trees). *sigh

One Boring Night in the Hospital

Monday, May 21, 2012

I seriously admit, we hadn't been feeling very well because of the combined desperation to gain scores in the hospital plus the-day-before's lost battle (failure), that means we practically allowed the 400 Php + float away.

Nevertheless.

I'm loving Disney. Its a magnanimous part of my childhood. In tapes and cds we watched Disney films, we virtually aren't deprived of entertainment appropriate our age. A Whole New World is my favorite, and among the duet songs i am very esteemed to sing. haha. I find it very viral. It never misses a repetition once i sing it during class/duty hours.

And I forgot to tell you. We completed our scores already.

Bits of Information

Now here is something you don't see and read everyday unless your search for it, or if an awesome Facebook page shares it on your homepage:p

According to Givens, there are four major signs that someone is attracted to you -- if you see one, it's a good sign, but if you see all four, it's "compelling evidence" that someone's into you.

1. Lifted shoulders: Biologists call this involuntary movement the "cute response." It reveals a softer, almost child-like side to a person that's meant to let the other person know that you're open to them.

Now that is scary!

2. Pigeon toes: Turning the toes inward is a sign that someone is both attracted and somewhat intimidated by you. They're unconsciously shrinking their body so as to appear less threatening.

3. Palms up: A person who's interested will typically have their palms face up when gesturing or at rest. This act displays openness and vulnerability -- both signs that the person is friendly and approachable.

wala ko di piso.

Now that's SCAAARIER!!!

4. The forehead bow: If a person tips their head slightly forward and looks up at you from under their brow, they're inviting you to come closer. i WILL NOT APPROACH BIEBER!

But there are other major signs too.

5. Dilated pupils: If someone is looking at something or someone they like, their pupils dilate (or get bigger), according to University of Chicago studies. It's a completely involuntary response, one that, says Dr. Eckhard Hess of the university, has nothing to do with the amount of light in a room or even the same part of the nervous system that normally controls this.

6. Feet pointing toward you: "The key to a man's heart isn't his stomach. It's his feet," says Lisa Daily, author of Stop Getting Dumped! All You Need to Know to Make Men Fall Madly in Love With You and Marry 'The One' in 3 Years or Less. "Watch the feet of the person you're attracted to. People who are attracted to each other subconsciously try to 'line up' with the other person. Where the toes point, the heart follows."

Jessica Sanchez: Pinoy Pride!

This woman is incredible. She can sing songs in any genre!
Mapa-oldies, RnB, Soul, Rock, Pop, Slow Music, Dance! Lahat! She's a half-blood Pinay. My family has been monitoring her progress in American Idol, glued to the television! We are wishing she'll win the competition!

She had good choices to her songs in AI and made out better renditions. This is one's i liked best:D
Blimey, she's one of the few singers to give justice to the Late Whitney songs:

12 Elements to a Healthy Halo-Halo

Sunday, May 20, 2012

Yeah. Im not a nutritionist or a food expert to post this in my blog, but I did. Might be because of quite overwhelming views I get everyday from some readers who may happen to click on some random feed in Google. I'm not trashing the idea that i belong in results of search engines like Google and Yahoo, obviously in cases that your keys could relate to any contents of my blog. hehe!

I actually made a feature article for our school magazine about our native pampalaming, the halo-halo.
It underwent edits, so some contents won't be published, so I decided to put the other parts here. In my "nurse researcher" mindset, the bulk of information I banged in here were definitely copy-pasted from resource websites. So i don't have intentions for copyright infringement (that's dogmatising)  or plagiarism:D

Happy Mother's Day Mama ko!

Connie Celestial. My most wonderful mother.

My Mama is worth everything to me and my siblings. I shall never allow that lowly idea to tarnish me again.

I (We) bought Mama two cakes for Mother's Day. Its not that much Mama, We will buy you a big cake with your face on it, and a bouquet of flowers too when we get a job. What matters most is what we feel inside our hearts. That you are our WonderMom!  We love you Mama!

My sister's letter to Mama. Haha :D

My Own Sorting

Saturday, May 12, 2012

I found this cute
sorting hat toy in
Booksale and got it for 35 Php.
This once, I took Sorting all by my self,
but I tried it on with Hagrid first. The mini Sorting hat places Hagrid in Griffindor just like
whats in the book, but it keeps telling me I belong in Hufflepuff. Literally, no matter how many times I tried. I keep getting the "H" from the floating dice inside the it.

I used it with the Sorting Hat's voice. Echoing and telling Harry,

"Not Slytherin? Well, if you're sure, better be Griffindor!"

I wish to bring it to school and try it on my classmates!
